The current opioid crisis has an incredible cost on the US, both financially and socially.  Dr. Coop will address the factors that led to the crisis, define the problem from a biological standpoint, and discuss the approaches currently underway to solve the crisis.  This will include current medications for treating opioid dependence, and the development of new opioid analgesics that lack any abuse liability, with a focus on his program towards this goal.

PARKING INFORMATION

Here is the parking website:  https://www.umaryland.edu/parking/parking-at-umb/parking-garages/

Preferred lots are Pearl Street (at 622 W. Fayette) or Lexington (at 660 W. Lexington).  Both work with pulling a ticket as you go in, and paying at exit.

The School is located on the corner of Fayette and MLK.  There is a one-way system on many Baltimore streets, so getting to a garage is not always a direct route.
