The Chemistry Laboratory Curriculum (CLC) Innovators Program is now accepting applications for the 2027 cohort! Through participation in a week-long summer institute and on-going virtual support meetings during AY2027-2028, several institutional teams from across the United States will engage in pedagogical training to turn previously used chemical experiments into engaging inquiry-based experiences that will be implemented at their home institutions. This professional development and laboratory reform opportunity is open to faculty-lead teams from 2-year and 4-year higher education institutions and is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Tenured, tenure-track, and other types of full-time instructional faculty are welcome to participate in this program and laboratory experiences can be developed for any sub-discipline of Chemistry.
Institutional teams will be selected for participation in the program by February 1st, 2027. The program website provides information on forming a team and the size limit for the team. Your department/program chair will also be required to provide your team a support letter during the application process. Please contact the CLC Innovators Program Coordinator (Peter Sanders, pbsanders@smcm.edu) if you have any questions about the application process for the 2027 CLC Innovators Program.
The deadline is December 31, 2026!
